Gathering of Eagles – Action Alert

Protest May 3rd

There is going to be another protest May 3rd from 11 am – 3 pm. It is down at the Patchogue recruiting station. We show up and protest the protesters. Last time we were there, the people hung the American Flag upside down, gave us the Nazi salute and called us fascists. We are NOT pro-war but we support our troops and understand that sometimes, war is necessary. To hold an American flag upside down at a protest is such disrespect to the people who have served and are currently serving, protecting our liberties (including our right to be there in the first place!!!) People (on our side) showed up wearing Army/Navy etc. stuff, Amerian flag stuff, or came with signs. I’ll be honest with you, when Brian and I returned home that day, we both said how proud we felt to be there that day. If you love your country and are grateful for your freedom and can find even an hour to stop by, please do. Thanks (from Alicia, via Donna)

Let’s keep the pressure up on these traitors. We have long said that their public shows of dissent encourage the enemy to attack our troops. Last Thursday a study from Harvard documented that exact fact. Let’s get out there and bury their little protest in a sea of red, white and blue!

Above link will take reader to New York/Long Island’s Gathering of Eagle’s site. They have listed a bunch of pre-planned protest.– Gosh, my rose colored glasses are off now!! Well, the list helps one to plan ahead:)

It was an orderly 12-2 every first Saturday of the month planned protest. Freedom of speech is an awesome thing/right/liberty.

Many Veterans were there and seeing their camaraderie and being able to stand together in support of today’s service men/women is really inspiring -Especially in light of the fact that most of those Veterans present had served during the Vietnam war and had personally known/faced/experienced angry, hateful and bitter protests during/after their deployments. These guys weren’t home with a brew-but standing outside, (it was rather chilly) being sixty, 70ish–and many still in outstanding condition. One of the Veterans led everyone in song: “God Bless America”.

The protesters signs said that “recruiters stalk our children..”

Interestingly enough-my son’s friend was at the recruiters with his mom and dad for an appointment they made/initiated–their second visit–talking, getting information, trying to make an educated decision on making an appointment for his audition and maybe enlisting into the Navy band. (They’ve been mulling over for some time..they talked with the different branches about their bands and may or may not audition or enlist at all– no stalking here.) My son wasn’t stalked-nor his friends. I’ve met quite a few enlisted/Veterans who said they snuck down to the recruiters without their parents knowing and enlisted–no stalking there either. (As a mom-I’d give them a smack up the side of the head for that!:) As for telephone calls we got a few-but nothing if not polite. In learning some things-I try to stop for a moment and thank the recruiters for their service and man-what a very difficult position/job and responsibility they have.

So as we continue–the long war on terror that was waged against us, our children and yet unborn children

Let us as citizens, patriots unite in our support of them – our sons/daughters, fathers/moms, aunts/uncles/cousins, neighbors who take the oath to defend and protect against all enemies foreign and domestic. They put their faith in each other and our constitution. Let us not forget, tire or neglect of letting them know, that it is because of them that we live in the land of the free because of the brave.
