It’s the Soldier, not the reporter

who has given us the freedom of the press.

It’s the Soldier, not the poet,
who has given us the freedom of speech.

It’s the Soldier, not the politicians
that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

It’s the Soldier who salutes the flag,
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag.

    Above link will connect reader to the story of another hero – Mike Silva – who served in the Vietnam War – retired 14 years ago from the National Guard and persuaded the Army to let him go to Iraq to fly the wounded warriors out of the combat zones with a Black Hawk. (Saw this first on Black 5)
    We have many who are deployed and serving, let’s all lift them all up in prayer – for success in their missions to bring stability and peace. Prayers of strength and grace for their families too, Prayers for wisdom for those who make the decisions.
